Is photography safe for my baby?
Yes- when done with someone who is trained in newborn safety. Whether it’s natural light or strobe light, photography has no adverse effect on a newborn’s eyes. I also use the brand Profoto for my light which has an extra coating of UV protection on the bulb.
What health precautions do you take?
My assistant and I health check every morning, are up-to-date on vaccinations, and use hand sanitizer throughout the session. The in-home studio is thoroughly cleaned before and after every session along with all outfits and props used.
How do I book a session?
You can call or email to discuss which session will best suit your needs. Once you’ve chosen, then you’ll receive a contract, client welcome guide, and invoice. A 50% creative fee deposit is required to reserve your session in the calendar and the remainder is due by the day of the session.
Do you offer payment plans?
I have Afterpay available on all invoices.
When should I book?
It’s best to book your sessions during your second trimester. I prefer to photograph maternity around week 32-34 and newborn between 7-15 days depending on how their birth went.
My baby is already born, is it too late to get in?
While it’s ideal to book before a baby is born, they are technically considered newborns for up to 6 weeks. The reason photographers recommend 7-15 days is because they are still flexible and like to be wrapped. The older a baby gets the less they want to be curled up and become less flexible- they also tend to be awake more which just means you will have beautiful awake images in your gallery.
What do I bring to my session?
I have lots of maternity and newborn outfits to choose from but if there is a particular outfit you want included then be sure to bring that along with any memento item. If there will be older siblings then I always suggest bringing special treats. I offer water, coffee, tea, and snacks. There is a children’s toy area and also access to Disney+.
When do I get my images?
You will receive a gallery a few days after your session where you’ll choose your images and order any extras you want. These images will be only lightly edited and once your selection is made will be fully edited and delivered based on the package purchased. If you wish to order any products you will also choose which images you want for those. Final images and products will be ordered and shipped to you once any invoice is paid in full. Exact shipping times are dependent on the vendor.
What if I want to order more images/products at a later date?
You are more than welcome to place an order later. Rest assured all your images are kept safe. These are your memories and they will never be deleted.
